FacilitySource Expands Executive Leadership Team with Managing Director for United Kingdom Operations
COLUMBUS, Ohio (April 27, 2010) – On the heels of opening European offices in Spain and England, FacilitySource, a leading facility maintenance management provider, has appointed Andrew New as managing director for UK operations.
As managing director of the company’s UK operations, New is charged with all facets of operational and administration functions in the England office, including new business, account management and procurement. He will also help guide the overall strategy behind the company’s continuing expansion into the European market. New will divide his time between the England office and the Columbus, Ohio headquarters.
“With more than 12 years of experience in the retail industry, Andrew is an enormous asset to the FacilitySource team,” said Bill Hayden, FacilitySource CEO. “His knowledge of the industry and his keen understanding of the UK retail market will significantly enhance FacilitySource’s ability to help European retailers and companies uncover areas of possible savings within their facility maintenance spending. His expertise will also be vital to our ongoing efforts to expand our offerings with U.S.-based customers more effectively and efficiently.”
FacilitySource entered the European market in 2009 with the opening of offices in Madrid, Spain, and Chester, England to accommodate their European client-base. The offices provide the company an opportunity to offer European retailers solutions to help improve processes and save money by centralising work requests, aggregating spending power and leveraging fmPilot, the company’s state-of-the-art online work request management system. FacilitySource also uses these locations to support its U.S-based retail clients that continue to expand into overseas markets.
“FacilitySource is well-positioned to help UK retailers and companies, as well as U.S.-based companies expanding overseas, gain a transparent view of their facility maintenance spend and realise how a better understanding of that spending can lead to direct cost savings and efficiency gains,” said New. “FacilitySource has developed a network of facility maintenance contractors and vendors in the UK and western Europe. This enables the company to act as the managing agent for retailers, giving them a single point of contact for their facility maintenance vendor relationships and central control of their facility maintenance spend.”
Prior to joining FacilitySource, New held a number of senior management positions with a variety of retailers in the United Kingdom, including Tesco and the Co-operative Group. With these various positions he had numerous responsibilities, including managing commercial and procurement teams and overseeing commercial property spends in excess of £200 million. He also was instrumental in in-sourcing and outsourcing maintenance management services for a number of previous employers.
